Our History | back to top
Computer Information Specialist, Inc. (“CIS”) is a web/wireless integration service company that was incorporated in the State of Maryland in 1985 by Michele Dyson, founder, president, and CEO. CIS provides web/wireless integration, Business-to-Business (B2B), and Business-to-Government (B2G) solution development for e-Procurement supply chain. This company has grown from the basement of the owner’s home to a profitable multi-million dollar business by developing software solutions, systems, and support for worldwide network services for government and commercial customers. Since 1985 CIS has served its customers in the federal government market. We maintain a ten year customer base and 100% performance rating. Ms. Dyson has 25 years experience in small business, management, financial management, and emerging technology.
We have received many awards for leadership in cabling technology in the Washington DC Metropolitan area including the “Smithsonian Technical Excellence Award” for Network Design and the “Small Business of the Year” award for our work in Network Architecture Designing at the Commerce Department Bureau of Export Administration. Ms. Dyson and CIS were featured as leaders in the B2G e-government revolution in “Business to Government” by David Wyld, published in 2002. This book focuses on government electronic procurement solutions and security with a view towards indicating how these technologies can make government operate more cost-effectively, decrease purchasing costs, and produce new revenues in online sales of property and assets.
